Amish Farmer’s Market!

It’s been almost a year and the Amish Farmer’s Market in Upper Marlboro has been steadily growing! Although only open Thursday – Friday, the market is a huge destination for people all over the county and beyond for fresh produce, tasty dinners and delicious candies and breads.

Come check them out at Marlboro Village Shopping Center, 5030 Brown Station Rd. near the town of Upper Marlboro.

Upper Marlboro farm seeks students

Clagett Farm in Upper Marlboro has 238 acres of outdoor learning opportunities.

The only thing that’s missing is the students, or Prince George’s students, to be exact.

Young Women of Color Conference (Oct 24 – 25)

The 2008 Young Women of Color Conference will be held on October 24-25, 2008 at The College of Southern Maryland, La Plata, MD

This conference is only the first step towards building bridges and closing gaps in order to address the varied needs of the area’s young women of color.

Keynote Speaker:
Ronique Marshall, Actress
Co-Star, Keyshia Cole’s Reality Show (BET)

This day long conference seeks to open doors for young women of color to achieve personal, educational, and professional success through shared self-awareness and sisterhood.
